Heroes with Halos
Honoring BRMC Staff
After receiving care at BRMC, many of our patients ask if they can express
their thanks in some way. They may have noticed the special attention
of a nurse, physician, therapist, technician, food service worker, volunteer,
housekeeper or other caregiver during their stay or visit, and wish to
express their gratitude.
How the Heroes with Halos program works:
It starts with a bookmark, which describes the program, being placed in
each patient room by a member of the housekeeping staff. It will let the
patient know a letter will be mailed to their home within a few weeks.
The letter will ask if there was someone who touched their lives in a special
way and will give them the opportunity to honor that person with a tax-deductible
gift of any amount they choose. They have choices for the designation
of their gift – healthcare scholarships, community health and support
houses or greatest need. There will also be an area where they can share
their story. Donations can be made in the enclosed envelope.
When Baxter Regional Hospital Foundation receives the donation, we immediately
send an acknowledgement to the donor. We will set up a time to honor the
employee in their next staff meeting. A certificate will be presented
by the BRMC President & CEO or a member of the Senior Leadership Team
and a member of the Foundation staff. For each staff member receiving
this for the first time, they will also be given a badge holder with the
Heroes with Halos logo. A certificate of recognition will be presented
each and every time an employee is honored. If an employee is honored
ten times, they will also receive a $50 gift certificate of their choice.
Additional giving envelopes are located in waiting rooms and lobbies throughout
the hospital as well as in our community houses and outside clinics.
Honorees will be listed in newsletters, posters,
The Center (BRMC employee newsletter), intranet, plasma and website. BRMC will also
post them on
