Dry Needling

Baxter Health is proud to offer Dry Needling, an intramuscular treatment that uses needles to relieve muscle pain and help the affected muscles to heal. By inserting the thin needle into muscular trigger points, the muscle contracts and releases, thereby relieving tightness and spasms.

Dry Needling is not Acupuncture

Dry Needling should not be confused with Acupuncture. Dry Needling, unlike Acupuncture, inserts the needle into the muscles, tendons or joints. Since there is nothing filling the needle, such as nutrients, or medication, the technique is referred to "dry." This treatment uses the body’s own survival mechanism to restore normal physical function as well as provide pain relief. It is well known for its anti-inflammatory effects.
