The 40th annual Health Fair & Expo presented by Baxter Regional Medical
Center, KTLO, Classic Hits & The Boot is
Wednesday, April 24, 7:30 a.m. – 7 p.m., at the Baxter County Fairgrounds in Mountain Home. Free blood sugar,
cholesterol, PSA and HbA1c tests* will be offered (until 1 p.m. only),
as well as a variety of screenings, health information, demonstrations,
give-a-ways and exhibits. The event is open to the public and free to attend.
*A 12 hour fast is recommended for most accurate results for blood draw
participants. Health screenings are not substitutes for regular exams
by your physician.
Calling all families! New to the Health Fair this year, a Teddy Bear Clinic will be available
for children to help nurses heal and/or adopt a teddy bear. Open from
3 to 7 p.m., the Teddy Bear Clinic is an interactive way to help children
become comfortable with basic check-up procedures, equipment, and care
providers themselves. Participating children will be able to dress up
like a doctor or nurse and receive a birth certificate for the new addition
to their family.

In conjunction with the Health Fair & Expo, the 2019 BRMC Women’s
and Men’s Health Forums will be held
Thursday, April 25 at the Baxter County Fairgrounds. Beginning at 8 a.m., these health experts
specializing in women's health will serve on a Q & A panel:

- Dr. Harley Barrow, Obstetrics/Gynecology
- Dr. Brad Coleman, Dentistry
- Dr. Jennifer Foster, Surgery
- Dr. Allison Booth, Ophthalmology

Special guest speaker LaDonna Gatlin will begin at 9 a.m. A seasoned professional
and dynamic speaker, LaDonna is the sister of the legendary Gatlin Brothers,
who learned firsthand that we can’t live someone else’s dream…
that in order to be our absolute best, we must find our own voice and
“sing our own song." Her presentations resonate with audiences
all over the country because, simply put, she makes people laugh, lightens
their load, and leaves them with a song in their hearts. She educates,
inspires, entertains, and is an unforgettable experience for her audiences.

The KTLO Expo will re-open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and feature health information,
education, and give-a-ways with local vendors. Snacks and coffee will
be available for all Health Forum attendees.
The Men’s Health Forum presented by the Mruk Family Education Center
on Aging will begin at 2 p.m. with Bob Knight, owner/general manager of
KTLO, Classic Hits 101.7 and The Boot, as the keynote speaker. A native
of Mountain Home and a founding member of the Baxter Regional Hospital
Foundation Board of Directors, Bob is the KTLO morning radio show personality
and the voice of a familiar friend to the many residents of Baxter County
who start their day tuned to KTLO. He is a veteran of the U. S. Navy and
has made many contributions locally and statewide in broadcasting, economic
development, volunteerism, education, and healthcare. He is president
of the Mountain Home Education Foundation and a State Commissioner on
the Arkansas Tourism and Travel Commission. Bob is sure to entertain attendees
with his infamous wit and entertaining anecdotes.
A Men's Health Panel will begin at 3 p.m. and include this panel of
local experts for a Q & A session:
