The
Mruk Family Education Center on Aging of Baxter Regional Medical Center recently received a $1,000 donation
from the Knights of Columbus of Mountain Home. District Deputy Tim Malloy
and Grand Knight Bob Anderson presented the donation to Paul Mruk and
MFECOA Coordinator Diahanne VanGulick.
“Support like this from our community helps to enhance the lives
of our seniors in the Twin Lakes area, whether they are fighting difficult
diseases like Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s or needing to build
strength, balance, and mobility through our exercise programs. Because
of these funds, none of our services or programs are cost prohibitive,”
said Diahanne VanGulick, MFECOA Coordinator.
The community is invited to support the Mruk Family Education Center on
Aging and attend the fifth annual fundraiser,
Hangin’ Out in the Hangar, on Saturday, May 19, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the Baxter County Fairgrounds.
It will be a fun, casual evening for a great cause, filled with toe stomping
bluegrass music live with Crooked Creek, smoked pulled pork, live and
silent auctions, and a fun cake walk! Tickets are $30 each or $50 per
couple and available online at
www.baxterregional.org/events or at the MFECOA, Anstaff Bank, or Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce.
For more information about the fundraiser or any of the resources available
at the MFECOA, contact Diahanne VanGulick at (870) 508-3880 or
evangulick@baxterregional.org, or stop by the MFECOA, located across Hospital Drive from the Main Entrance
of BRMC, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
