Baxter Regional Wound Healing Center recognized with a national award for
continued excellence in wound healing
Leaders, physicians and clinicians of
Baxter Regional Wound Healing Center are celebrating the center’s receipt of the Robert A. Warriner III
Center of Excellence award. The Center of Excellence award is given to
wound care centers that have met the highest level of quality standards
for a minimum of two consecutive years.
The Center was awarded this prestigious honor by Healogics, the nation’s
leading and largest wound care management company. The award is named
for Dr. Robert Warriner, a pioneer in wound care and hyperbaric oxygen
therapy. Across the country, 334 centers were eligible and 169 centers
were honored with this award in 2017, based on the centers key performance
indicators for 2016. The criteria for the award are based on distinct
key quality indicators, patient satisfaction rates higher than 92 percent,
a healing rate of at least 91 percent in less than 31 median days along
with patient outlier rates below 19 percent.
Baxter Regional Wound Healing Center is a member of the Healogics network
of nearly 800 wound care centers, with access to benchmarking data and
proven experience treating approximately 2.5 million chronic wounds. Baxter
Regional Wound Healing Center offers highly specialized wound care to
patients suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and
other chronic wounds which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time.
Some of the leading-edge treatments offered at the Wound Healing Center
include negative pressure wound therapy, debridement, application of autologous
skin grafting to the wound, offloading or total contact casts and hyperbaric
oxygen therapy.
“We are fortunate to have the resources available to accommodate
the growing needs of the community,” said Jamie Manes, Baxter Regional
Wound Healing Center Program Director. “Our excellent team of staff
and physicians strive to provide quality care with successful outcomes
to all patients. We are honored to receive this award consecutively the
past three years. There is no greater reward than seeing a patient heal
after months or even years of dealing with chronic wounds. The team at
the Baxter Regional Wound Healing Center extends our gratitude to the
communities we serve for allowing us to be your healers.”
Baxter Regional Wound Healing Center opened to the community in October,
2006. The center originally opened with four treatment rooms and two hyperbaric
oxygen chambers. In 2011, the center expanded with the grand opening of
the new facility that included five treatment rooms and a third hyperbaric
oxygen chamber. Baxter Regional Wound Healing Center was pleased to complete
an expansion last year which included the addition of a fourth hyperbaric
oxygen chamber.
