BRMCand#39;s Mruk Family Education Center on Aging recently received a $2,000 grant from Twin Lakes Community Foundation, an affiliate of Arkansas Community Foundation. MFECOA was one of 16 local nonprofits that received grants during a Twin Lakes Community Foundation Grant Reception held on Thursday, April 21.

These grant funds will go to support Rock Steady Boxing Mountain Home, a program using a unique, non-contact boxing exercise to helps patients fight back against Parkinson's disease.

"Support like this from our community helps people living with Parkinson’s disease know that they are not fighting alone, that their whole community is in their corner!” said Diahanne VanGulick, MFECOA and RSBMH Coordinator and a certified personal trainer and RSB coach.

For more information about the resources available at the MFECOA and Rock Steady Boxing Mountain Home, contact Diahanne VanGulick at (870) 508-3881 or evangulick@baxterregional.org, or stop by the MFECOA Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The MFECOA is one of four Community Health Education and Support Houses at BRMC, all located across Hospital Drive from the BRMC Main Entrance.
