Baxter Regional Medical Center Clinical Laboratory Services has been awarded accreditation from the College of American Pathologists,
indicating that it meets the highest standard of excellence in clinical
laboratory practices. BRMC joins an elite group of globally recognized
facilities whose Laboratory operates at this level of quality.
College of American Pathologists (CAP) accreditation requires inspection by a team of highly specialized
laboratory professionals who meticulously examine all aspects of the department
including patient care practices, quality assurance, staff qualifications,
technologies and equipment, facilities and leadership. They thoroughly
examine how the Lab meets the needs of our patients, providers, hospital
and community. The goal of the program is to ensure care quality and patient
safety by advancing the Pathology and Laboratory Services through education
and strict standards.
CAP, celebrating 50 years as the gold standard in Laboratory accreditation,
is a medical society that serves more than 18,000 physician members and
the global Laboratory community. It is the world’s largest association
composed exclusively of board-certified Pathologists and is the worldwide
leader in laboratory quality assurance. The College advocates accountable,
high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
