Free Alzheimer's screenings Nov. 21 at the MFECOA
November is National Alzheimerand#39;s Disease Awareness Month. Alzheimer's
disease is a progressive, degenerative disease that attacks the brain
and results in impaired memory, thinking, and behavior. According to the
Alzheimer's Association, Alzheimer's disease is the sixth leading
cause of death in the United States, an American develops it every 68
seconds, and over 5 million Americans are living with it - including over
100,000 Arkansans.
On Thursday, November 21, the
Mruk Family Education Center on Aging and
Fairlamb Senior Health Clinic will be partnering to offer free Alzheimerand#39;s screenings from 1 to
3 p.m. The screenings will be held at the Mruk Family Education Center
on Aging on the BRMC campus, across Hospital Drive from the Main Entrance.
Appointments are not required.
