Mruk Family Education Center on Aging

Aging Support Resources in North Central Arkansas & South Central Missouri

Mruk Family Education Center on Aging (MFECOA) is dedicated to helping you live a longer and healthier life. The MFECOA provides educational programs, resources and healthcare services to older adults and their families to help them address aging issues.

Available Services Include:

  • Self Defense for Seniors
  • Dementia Friendly Community Program
  • Dementia Caregiver Toolbox
  • Education and support groups
  • Resource library
  • Exercise programs for men and women
  • Lunch and Learn programs
  • Rock Steady Boxing (A non-contact boxing exercise to fight back against Parkinson's Disease)

The center includes a classroom for education and support services related to home safety, caregiving, geriatric medicine and other aging issues. Regular educational programs cover a variety of health topics, such as Alzheimer’s disease, arthritis and dementia.

Meet the Coordinator

E. Diahanne VanGulick

Diahanne VanGulick was named the Mruk Family Education Center on Aging Coordinator in July, 2015, bringing a wealth of experience in health education, preventative health care and event planning to her new role. She has a special interest in making sure people in our community know of all the available resources to them, including emotional, spiritual, and physical support.

Her previous roles at Baxter Regional include the Continuing Medical Education/Basic Life Support Coordinator in the Education Department and most recently as a Patient Registrar in Patient Financial Services. In between those roles, Diahanne was in Kansas City, Missouri, and worked as an event assistant and health educator at a company that provides health screenings and on-going health education for corporations. She has been a certified American Heart Association Basic Life Support and First Aid Instructor for over 20 years.

Diahanne is married to her high school sweetheart, Paul. They live in Mountain Home and have two adult children, Emmilee and Timothy. She enjoys hiking and exploring the many nature trails in our area.
