provide adult cardiac, thoracic and vascular care right here in Mountain Home.

Louis W. Elkins, M.D.
Dr. Elkins graduated from the University of Arkansas and received his medical
degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 1986. Dr.
Elkins is Board Certified in general and thoracic surgery. He completed
a general surgery residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center
and a cardiothoracic surgery residency at Boston University Medical Center.
Dr. Elkins completed fellowships in adult cardiothoracic and pediatric
congenital surgery at Boston Medical Center, in pediatric congenital surgery
at Boston Children's Hospital and in thoracic surgery at the Lacey
Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts.
He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the
Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the Southern Thoracic Surgical Association.
Dr. Elkins resides in the Mountain Home with his wife Terrie and their
Kathleen Prinner, APRN
Kathy Prinner, MSN, APRN, ACNS-BC, NE is our Advanced Practice Registered
Nurse who works closely with Dr. Louis Elkins to coordinate the care of
our patients. Kathy earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (1994) at
Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois; as well as a Master of Science
in Nursing (2010) and post-Master's certificate in Nursing Education
(2011) from Arkansas State University, Jonesboro. In addition, she is
board certified as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. Her 20 years of nursing
experience in the specialties of acute, intensive, and cardiac care along
with her knowledge as a nurse educator have prepared her to answer patient
questions and advocate for their needs, ensuring excellent patient outcomes.
