Baxter Regional Rheumatology Clinic
Baxter Regional Rheumatology Clinic
Baxter Regional Medical Center is pleased to offer rheumatology care in Mountain Home. Dr. Safwan Sakr and his team of healthcare professionals at the Baxter Regional Rheumatology Clinic specialize in patients suffering from arthritis and related diseases.

Arthritis touches one in three Americans. It affects people of all ages, including children – and for many, the pain and difficulties it causes never go away completely. Early diagnosis and treatment are important to help slow or prevent damage to your joints.

Recognize the signs of arthritis. These symptoms may develop suddenly or over time:
  • Joint pain, stiffness or occasional swelling
  • Difficulty moving or using a joint
If you or a loved one has any of these signs in or around a joint for more than two weeks, call (870) 508-7072 for an appointment.

Testing and Results
We believe lab tests should only be performed when necessary to establish a diagnosis, prevent illness or guide treatment.  That’s why you can always expect your doctor to discuss with you any testing needed, so you can participate in the decision.

Once your testing is completed, you can expect results within 7 to 10 days. But, we’ll call you if your attention is needed sooner, just as we hope you’ll call us if your results are not received within 7 to 10 days. To ensure that this process goes smoothly, please remember to keep your phone number, address and insurance information updated at our front desk.
Medication Refills
We want you to have the medications you need when you need them. To help that process along, please remember that you should bring all your current medication bottles to every visit.

To obtain regular refills, simply call your pharmacy with any requests and they will contact us. However, be sure to allow at least 24 hours for our office to approve the refill.  Please note, however, that some medications will not be refilled without an office appointment and that we will not prescribe or fill controlled substances after office hours.
Billing Information
For your convenience, we accept Visa and MasterCard.  We’ll also be happy to submit your insurance forms if you’ve provided accurate and current information.  But, please remember that co-payments are due at the time of your office visit.

Likewise, since insurance providers do not pay or fully cover certain services, you will be responsible for any additional charges. However, if special financial circumstances arise, don’t hesitate to discuss the situation with our office manager at (870) 508-7072 so that we can arrange a payment plan.
