Baxter Regional Patient Financial Services
Helping Patients With Payment for Medical Services
Does Baxter Regional Medical Center contract with my insurance? Health
insurance plans accepted by Baxter Regional may vary, so
check here to see if your insurance is on our list. We’re continually negotiating
and contracting with new insurers to ensure that our community has access
to the high-quality, affordable healthcare it deserves.
Business Office - Financial Counseling Department
Our Business Office is available to help patients with questions regarding
insurance coverage and payment methods for their hospital bills. The staff
in the business office commonly answers questions regarding various insurance
carriers, charges on patient bills, and advice on financial programs and
charity care to pay for needed medical services. Available payment methods
include: Check, VISA, MasterCard, AMEX, or Discover credit cards and debit
cards, and a Patient Friendly Bank Loan. Your health coverage is a binding
contract between your insurance company and you. While we will assist
in expediting your claims, you are ultimately responsible for payment
of your account. The Baxter Regional Medical Center Business Office is
open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Fees for the professional services of your attending physician, surgeon,
radiologist, anesthesiologist or pathologist are not included in your
hospital bill. You will be billed separately for their services by those
providers.

Patient Loan Program
We realize that paying your medical bills can present an unexpected expense.
We are pleased to offer affordable monthly payment plans to our patients
that will help diminish the financial pressure of your healthcare responsibilities.
Briefly, here’s how it works: Our program is based on the same concept
that department store charge cards use. You make a minimum payment each
month, but can pay off the entire balance if you wish. You will receive
a payment book from Arvest Bank, and you send your payments directly to them.
Better Payment Options
The bank loan will allow you to make monthly payments on your account over
an extended time period rather than pay the entire balance at once. You
will receive a payment book to make monthly payments. Future medical expenses
from Baxter Regional may be added as long as your monthly payments are
current. Minimum payments are based on the size of the balance due at
the time the loan is taken out and it may vary. Our program offers a 0%
interest rate (a first in Arkansas for our patients).
Activating Your Account
You may participate in the program after your insurance company has paid
or, if you don’t have insurance, the program can be activated immediately.
Multiple payment options
Pay your bills 24/7 by check or credit card, via mail, phone or Internet.
If you have questions or would like to finance your healthcare bill through
Arvest Bank, please contact our financial counselors at (870) 508-1080.
Medicaid
The State of Arkansas also implements a Medicaid program which is a source
of health insurance for low income individuals who meet criteria (age,
disabled, dependent children, and pregnant women to name a few of the
categories of coverage). Baxter Regional has representatives on staff
that can help assist patients in applying for Medicaid. Call (870) 508-7058
or (870) 508-1067 with questions or apply for Medicaid for your hospital bills.

Baxter Regional Financial Assistance Program
The following information relates to Baxter Regional Medical Center’s
Financial Assistance Program. It is the policy of Baxter Regional Medical
Center to evaluate all patients’ ability to pay and offer financial
assistance to those who qualify.
Qualifying for financial assistance under Baxter Regional’s procedures
involves the following:
- Guarantors complete a financial statement application which details their
income and expenses during the 12 months prior to the hospital visit.
- The financial statement application is reviewed to ensure it has been completed.
Any supporting documents can be requested from the guarantor.
- If the financial statement application has been validated and supporting
documentation shows an income at or below 300% of the current Federal
Poverty Level (FPL) for the declared family size, the patient may qualify
for some financial assistance.
If you have any questions regarding this information, or if you would like
to speak to our patient financial counselor or request an application,
please call (870) 508-1080, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through
