Experience da Vinci at Baxter Regional
Baxter Regional invites the community to experience da Vinci
Baxter Regional Medical Center wants you to experience the da Vinci surgical
system! On Tuesday, January 21 from noon to 2:00 p.m., attendees will
have the opportunity to see what it's like to be a surgeon. A hands-on
demonstration will allow you to experience da Vinci, a tool for performing
robotic-assisted minimally invasive surgery. Demonstrations will be conducted
in the Baxter Regional Main Lobby next to Brewed Awakenings.
The
da Vinci surgical system gives surgeons an advanced set of instruments to use in
performing robotic-assisted minimally invasive surgery. The term “robotic”
often misleads people. Robots don’t perform surgery. A trained,
experienced surgeon performs surgery with da Vinci by using instruments
that he or she guides via a console.
The da Vinci system translates the surgeon’s hand movements at the
console in real time, bending and rotating the instruments while performing
the procedure. The tiny wristed instruments move like a human hand, but
with a greater range of motion. The da Vinci vision system also delivers
highly magnified, 3D high-definition views of the surgical area.
Please join us for this one-of-a-kind experience. For more information
