The Mruk Family Education Center on Aging of Baxter Regional Medical Center
is hosting the tenth annual
Men’s Health Forum on Thursday, October 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Baxter County
Fairgrounds in Mountain Home. This year’s theme is
Below the Belt Health for Men Matters, and keynote speakers will include
Dr. Rodney Traeger on Urological and Sexual Health in Men, BRMC Occupational Wellness Coordinator
Jonny Harvey on Supporting and Strengthening Your Core, and a Q&A
Health Panel featuring local experts and providers.
A number of booths at the forum will also provide free screenings for simple
memory testing, cardiovascular risk factors, balance, diet, hearing, fall
risk factors, and more. Attendees may bring their most recent lab results
and discuss their risk factors with professionals. They may also bring
in either a list of all of over the counter and prescription medications
or supplements they take, or they can bring the bottles in a bag. Danny
Ponder, PharmD, of Ponder Health/Allcare Pharmacy will be joining us on
the panel, but he will also do a "Brown Bag Medication Review"
from his booth that day to let men know if anything they are taking contraindicates
with their prescriptions.
The Men’s Health Forum is a free program for men only, and lunch
will be provided. Seating is limited, so pre-registration is required.
