Dr. Corey Smith to begin practicing in Mountain Home
Baxter Regional Medical Center is proud to welcome
W. Corey Smith, MD, to our medical staff. Dr. Smith is an obstetrician and gynecologist in
practice at a new clinic, BRMC Obstetrics & Gynecology, opening Monday,
July 24 and located in the Medical Arts Building, Suite 3B.
Dr. Smith was born and raised in McComb, Mississippi. He graduated with
honors from St. George’s University School of Medicine in the West
Indies and completed an obstetrics/gynecology residency at Drexel University/Hahnemann
University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Smith specializes in women's health, focusing on reproductive care
from puberty through adulthood and treating women during pregnancy, labor,
childbirth, and the postpartum period. Recently, Dr. Smith traveled to
sub-Saharan Africa to participate in training programs aimed at increasing
access to life saving surgical skills including cesarean delivery. Additionally,
the training programs included techniques aimed at improving the management
of postpartum hemorrhage through utilization of specialized procedures.
He looks forward to continued participation with these programs in the
future and working locally with the Schliemann Center for Women's
Health Education, where he will host discussions and work with our community.
He and his fiancée, Alexis, enjoy outdoor activities including scuba
diving, canoeing, hiking, photography, hunting and fishing. They are looking
forward to joining our community and growing his practice. We welcome
them both to our community and to the BRMC family.
