Healthy Eating on a Budget
At the
Thursday, January 24 meeting of the Healthy Eating Recipe Exchange Group, Jaren Beavers, Schliemann Center for Womenand#39;s Health Education Coordinator,
will discuss how to eat healthy on a budget. Studies show that eating
a diet of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and beans combined with exercise
can help you maintain a balanced and healthier lifestyle.
The Healthy Eating Recipe Exchange Group meets the fourth Tuesday of each
month at 10 a.m. and is open to all men and women that are interested
in eating healthy foods. This group provides for recipe exchange and discussion
to encourage and promote healthy eating habits.

How to Cope with Metastatic Cancer
On
Thursday, January 26 at noon, BRMC Chaplain Rev. Randy Ludwig will be a guest speaker at the Living
with Metastatic Cancer Support Group meeting. He will discuss coping with
metastatic cancer.
This group meets on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at noon
at the Peitz Cancer Support House and provides support and education to
those who are dealing with advanced cancer. One of the biggest challenges
during this time is uncertainty about whatand#39;s ahead, and it helps
to understand the options available and ways to cope.

Cervical Cancer Awareness
January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month. Nearly 13,000 women in the
United States are diagnosed with cervical cancer each year, but vaccination
and appropriate screenings help to prevent it. Learn more about cervical
cancer on Tuesday, January 31 at noon from guest speaker Amanda Thornton, APRN, of
The Center for Women.
