Baxter Regional Medical Center has been awarded a $320,538 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to provide a comprehensive telehealth care management program that will include remote patient monitoring and a free, 24-hour nurse help line. These enhancements will help BRMC improve patient case management and health outcomes, and reduce unnecessary hospitalizations and visits to the emergency room.

BRMC was one of 18 projects in 16 states to receive a grant from the USDA Distance Learning and Telemedicine program that provides grants for telecommunications equipment in order to increase access to health care and educational opportunities in rural areas.

BRMC would like to thank Arkansas Senator John Boozman, U.S. Congressman Rick Crawford, Tracy Copeland, Department of Finance and Administration, Lawrence McCullough, State Director USDA Rural Development and Stephen Lasgasse, Community Program Director, for their help with the USDA Distance Learning and Telemedicine Grant.
