Baxter Regional Medical Center is pleased to again offer the Dr. Robert
L. Kerr Medical Student Scholarship, established to assist medical students
from the BRMC service area with tuition. The goal of this scholarship
program is to encourage medical students to practice in the BRMC service
area after completion of their medical degree. andldquo;We have great pride
in our area medical students and are excited to offer this opportunity
to them as we strive to remain comprehensive, independent and community
driven,” said Ron Peterson, Baxter Regional Medical Center President
and Chief Executive Officer.
Scholarships are presented annually, and applications are available now
for the 2016-2017 academic year. To be eligible, students must show proof
of enrollment in an accredited medical program leading to a degree of
medical doctor or doctor of osteopathy and demonstrate permanent residency
in the BRMC designated service area (including the following counties:
Baxter, Marion, Fulton, Izard, Sharp, Stone, and Searcy, Arkansas, and
Ozark County, Missouri).

Applications are due June 15, 2016, with scholarships awarded August 1.
