At the Arkansas Hospital Auxiliary Association (AHAA) annual conference
held earlier this month in Little Rock, the
Baxter Regional Medical Center Auxiliary received the 2014-2015 Community Service Award, Fundraising Award, and
5 Star Award of Excellence. BRMC volunteer Connie Appleby was also named
Auxilian of the Year.
The BRMC Auxiliary received the AHAA Community Service Award for hospitals
over 100 beds for all the work the volunteers have done through the 4 BRMC
Community Health Education and Support Houses: the Mruk Family Education Center on Aging, Peitz Cancer Support House,
Reppell Diabetes Learning Center and Schliemann Center for Womenand#39;s
Health Education.
The AHAA Fundraising Service Award for hospitals over 100 beds was awarded
to the BRMC Auxiliary for the Special Shirt Sales conducted through the
Mountain Home Bargain Box and Flippin Bargain Box and two in-hospital
sales. These sales were made possible through a generous donation of new
shirts from a local business.
The BRMC Auxiliary was also awarded a 5 Star Award of Excellence. Points
are awarded by meeting criteria of 33 items earning from 1 to 5 Stars;
351 points are needed to achieve a 5 Star Award, and BRMC earned 400 points.
Connie Appleby was awarded the AHAA Volunteer of the Year for hospitals
over 100 beds. Connie has tirelessly led the team of volunteers at the
Bargain Box in Flippin over several years, making it one of the Auxiliaryandrsquo;s
most successful fundraising projects. Through the volunteer efforts at
the two Bargain Boxes, and the other volunteer fundraising events in 2014,
BRMC auxiliary was able to donate over $400,000 back to BRMC in support
of special services and equipment needs.
Congratulations, BRMC Auxiliary! Weand#39;re so proud to have you on our team.
