BRMC celebrates "Building for Babies" Donors

Guests toured the newly renovated Women and Newborn Care Center after a
luncheon held in their honor.

A luncheon to honor donors of the Building for Babies Capital Campaign
was held on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 in the BRMC Lagerborg Dining Room.
A $500,000 gift from the BRMC Auxiliary was announced last Spring to kick
off the Building for Babies capital campaign to renovate the Women and
Newborn Care Center, which is officially open and operating at full capacity.

The program began with BRMC Chaplain, Mr. Tom Baker leading those gathered
in prayer. The Senior Leadership Team, lead by President and CEO, Ron
Peterson was introduced. Baxter Regional Hospital Foundation Executive
Director/BRMC Vice President of Development Barney Larry thanked the community
for rising to the occasion and providing the necessary donations to renovate
the Women and Newborn Care Center.
BRMC Chief Operating Officer Rudy Darling described all that the project
entailed, calling it the most challenging and rewarding project at BRMC
he has ever been a part of. He introduced the BRMC Facilities Management
and Engineering personnel that accomplished the task in record time, with
a special acknowledgement to Brandon Ellison, project manager, and Lori
Kauffman, ASID, of Anderson Construction. The renovated Women and Newborn
Care Center boasts the latest technology focusing on patient-centered
care and features 10 state-of-the-art labor and delivery rooms, a larger,
completely renovated nursery as well as a new nurse call system, fetal
monitoring system and security.
Laura Anderson, BSN, RN, Women and Newborn Care Center, with baby Tennasyn
Roberson, daughter of OB Tech/Unit Secretary Shasta Roberson. Tennasyn
was the 7th child of the Roberson family born at BRMC.
