Foundation, because we are celebrating our 25th anniversary. 25 years
of donors who have given generously to the various projects, services
and capital campaigns,” said Barney Larry, Executive Director of
the Baxter Regional Hospital Foundation, to over 300 guests attending
the annual Donor Banquet held at the Vada Sheid Community Development
Center on the Arkansas State University – Mountain Home campus on
Thursday, April 10.
The evening began with an invocation given by Justin Woods, Baxter Regional
Hospital Foundation Program Coordinator, followed by Baxter Regional Hospital
Foundation Board Member Lori Gregoryandrsquo;s beautiful rendition of
“Over the Rainbow.” After welcome and introductions by Chairman
of the Baxter Regional Hospital Foundation Board of Directors Randall
Drake, Rosalyn Blagg, Chairman of the BRMC Board of Directors, expressed
appreciation from the entire Board of Directors to the audience for their
commitment to BRMC and the power of their fundraising.
andldquo;Today, philanthropy plays a major role in the growth and success
of our hospital. We would not be the institution we are today without
the help of everyone in this room,” stated Ron Peterson, President
& CEO of BRMC.
Estella Tullgren, Baxter Regional Hospital Foundation Planned Giving/Major
Gifts Officer, highlighted the 2013 Building for Babies Capital Campaign
for raising the dollars to renovate the Women and Newborn Care Center.
Tullgren introduced the businesses, civic groups, and individuals who
collectively raised $1.2 million dollars. She also introduced Phase II
of Building for Babies — the Buy-a-Block campaign. A huge 5x20 ft
mural painting by local Cotter artist Megan Benham is on display at the
Women & Newborn Care Center. Blocks may be purchased at giving levels

Three of the original founding Baxter Regional Hospital Foundation Board
Members were honored at the banquet andmdash; Katie King Risk, Don Ott
and Peter Peitz. Each one was given a plaque in remembrance of their 25th
anniversary. “Each one of these individuals has dedicated their
time and their resources to make this hospital what it is today,”
The outgoing 2012-2013 Foundation Board Chair Steven Sanders Jr., who
continues to serve on the Foundation Board, was honored for his leadership
for the past two years.
A highlight of the evening was a presentation made by Baxter Regional
Hospital Foundation Board Member Peter Peitz. He emphasized the significant
events and history of the past 25 years to show what donor commitment
means to our hospital and community.
It was an evening filled with thank yous and heartfelt personal stories
by Ramona Fornes, Dr. Ray Stahl, Shirley Patterson and Randall Drake.
The evening ended with a moving video to honor donors and the difference
their gifts have made to BRMC.
