Baxter Regional Medical Center One of 16 Hospitals to Receive Award
Baxter Regional Medical Center has participated in the Arkansas Medicaid
Inpatient Quality Incentive (IQI) Program for several years, with excellent
results. Recently, BRMC was notified that the IQI results for State Fiscal
Year (SFY) 2013 were now available.
In SFY 2013, only 16 hospitals in Arkansas qualified, and proudly, BRMC
was one of the 16. Arkansas has 107 hospitals, and in 2012 only 27 hospitals
qualified for this distinguished award, of which BRMC was one.
In order to receive recognition or incentive payment from the IQI program,
hospitals must meet specific goals for at least 80 percent of eligible
measures. These measures are selected by the IQI Advisory Board, Arkansas
Medicaid and the Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care (AFMC). Hospitals
must also pass validation of their reporting to qualify for the financial
bonus program attached to Medicare reimbursements.
“Our employees strive every day to give excellent care to every
patient, every time, and this award is validation of that goal. I am very
proud of all our BRMC 'family' and the care and compassion that
are shown to not only patients, but their family and friends as well,"
stated Ron Peterson, President & CEO of Baxter Regional Medical Center.
