Information for Expectant Mothers & Families

Helping Soon-to-Be-Mothers in Baxter County

Services for expectant mothers at Baxter Health are guided by state-of-the-art technology and the gentle touch of a staff that has brought many little bundles of joy into the world. Just last year, our skilled nurses and staff helped with the successful deliveries of over 700 babies. Our medical professionals have extensive experience helping expecting mothers with their day to day problems, and their more acute issues. We have been delivering infants and treating mothers since we were founded over 54 years ago. When you are about to bring a new life into this world, you want an experienced, knowledgeable, and compassionate medical expert right alongside you. We can help with that.

The Women & Newborn Care Center at Baxter Health promotes a family-centered care philosophy:

  • Encourages non-separation of mom and newborn
  • Accommodates dads with support, education, and parenting
  • Flexible visiting hours
  • Easy, 24-hour access to non-stress tests/labor evaluations
  • Breastfeeding support and education

We believe in working as a team to provide:

  • Referral to women’s health physicians (obstetrics/gynecology, gynecological oncology, family practice, and pediatrics)
  • Pre-registration by phone
  • Private rooms/bathrooms
  • Individualized pain management (non-medicated and medicated)
  • Early morning coffee and complimentary newspaper
  • Ambulatory Fetal Monitoring
  • Newborn gift items at the Pink-a-Dilly Gift Shop
  • Newborn photo program (optional)
  • Souvenir newborn footprints
