Since the implementation of the Affordable Healthcare Act, tax-exempt hospitals
have been required to conduct thorough assessments into the health needs
of their local communities and utilize effective strategies to address
these needs. Our extensive research often digs up important information
pertaining to our community and what could be improved upon. We work hard,
every day, to ensure our patients and community are getting the highest
quality of care possible. We are continually striving to get better and

In compliance with Section 501(r) of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC), a
tax-exempt hospital must:
- Conduct a thorough community health needs assessment once every three years.
- Implement and utilize a strategy that would address the community health
needs identified in the assessment.
- Report on how the strategy is working to address the needs identified in
the assessment, along with a description of which needs are not being
addressed and why.
BRMC’s compliance with IRC Section 501(r) is documented in our community
health needs assessments. We identify and prioritize the community’s
health needs in each assessment in order to determine which matters are
the most pressing for us to address. We work to improve all aspects of
our wonderful community’s health and we always take our patient’s
recommendations into consideration. We know just how great our community
