Fundraising Campaigns
Baxter Regional Hospital Foundation programs ensure support for hospital funding into the future. Here’s a glimpse at some of our current fundraising efforts.
Lend a Hand, Touch a Life
Each fall, Baxter Regional Hospital Foundation conducts the Lend a Hand, Touch a Life campaign. In 2007, funds raised supported the Women’s Health Education Center, Robert L. Kerr Medical Student Scholarship Fund and BRMC’s Center on Aging.
The Lend a Hand, Touch a Life campaign touches the lives of many people in our community:
“The Teen Girls Night Out events are very exciting and educational … a fun-filled night, never a boring moment!”
– Joanna, Baxter County Alternative School Student
“I attribute at least part of many students’ successes with the Teen Girls Night Out events. The greatest pleasure at the events is to watch the students come out of their shells and open up to the experience, their peers and the wonderful volunteers around them. We are blessed to have such a wonderful program in our community.”
– Michelle, CVM, Community Resource Coordinator at Baxter County Alternative School
“The Girls Night Out at Kent Chevrolet was so fun and yet it made me stop and think about my health. The coordinators have taken a serious matter and made it easy to discuss.”
– Joanne, Mountain Home, Ark.
“It is because of the Girls Night Out Heart Health program that I discovered the need for heart surgery. My life was definitely in danger and I didn’t even know it. These programs are so informative and, in my case, lifesaving.”
– Bonnie, Lakeview, Ark.
The Employee Fund Drive – Building Futures to Make a Difference
Baxter Regional Medical Center has a tradition of giving. BRMC employees have always rallied around a good cause, and the Employee Fund Drive is their opportunity to make a difference. In 2007, our employees gave $100,000 to the community and hospital through the fund drive. Their participation touches the lives of employees at BRMC and our friends in the community.
Memorial gifts
Many people choose to make a gift to the foundation rather than send flowers following the loss of a friend or loved one. The foundation acknowledges each gift with a letter to the family and a letter of thanks to the thoughtful donor. Over the years, memorial gifts have made a lasting impression on many who have lost friends and loved ones.
Long-term funding
The foundation seeks and accepts contributions from individuals to help provide long-term funding for the hospital, as well as funds for annual needs. To prepare for the future needs of the hospital, the foundation has established an endowment fund.
Gifts to this fund can be made in several forms, including immediate gifts of cash, securities, real estate, life insurance and tangible personal property, as well as planned gifts such as trusts and bequests by will. A foundation representative is available to speak with you about the tax benefits of any of these gifts to the foundation. For specific legal advice, please consult your attorney or professional advisers.
Special events
To raise awareness and money, more than 250 golfers pick up their clubs and get into the swing of fundraising by playing in the annual golf tournament held each spring at Big Creek Golf and Country Club to benefit BRMC. This special event raises more than $30,000 for Baxter Regional Medical Center each year.
