Hospice House
Hospice House provides a homelike setting for terminally ill patients who want hospice care but are unable to receive the care in their own homes. Some patients do not have a caregiver at home, or they may have a caregiver who is unable to care for them during their illness.
Hospice House offers a place for patients who need acute care for pain and symptom control that cannot be handled in their own homes. The facility offers up to five total days of care to provide respite for family members and caregivers.
Hospice House is the only hospital-based, freestanding hospice facility in Arkansas. The 12-bed, 13,500-square-foot facility is staffed by nurses who have specialized training in end-of-life care. Accommodations are available for families to stay with loved ones. The house includes a homelike day room for families, featuring comfortable seating, table and chairs, fireplace, microwave and refrigerator. The facility has a chapel and an outdoor covered patio area.
Hospice House services include:
- A comprehensive team approach to taking care of the physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs of patients and their families
- Bereavement counseling and support groups for family members
- Social work guidance, support and counseling
- Meals and laundry services from BRMC
