Pain Management Services
Our board certified anesthesiologists at BRMC are there for you long before and after your operating room, experience is complete. They remain in immediate attendance for any postoperative medical problems that may arise, as well as taking care of pain management issues during your recovery phase. Management of postoperative pain often involves sophisticated techniques that extend well into the second or third postoperative day for major surgical procedures. BRMC pain management options also include outpatient procedures for the treatment of pain associated with chronic and acute vertebral disc disease resulting in sciatica, pain associated with post herpetic neuralgia following shingles, pain and vascular changes associated with reflex sympathetic dystrophy following injury or surgery to upper and lower extremities, trigger point injections for musculoskeletal spasm and inflammatory conditions, sympathetic block therapy for compromised blood flow to extremities as a result of atherosclerotic and spastic vascular disease, and diagnostic and therapeutic nerve blocks for lingering pain due to injury or post surgical. In addition, early, and sometimes life saving, interventional pain relieving procedures are performed for trauma patients to speed their recovery by avoiding the deleterious effects of stress and incapacitating amounts of pain medication. The practice of Anesthesiology and pain control at Baxter Regional Medical Center does not begin or end only in the operating room. It is present all over the hospital, every day.
